Post-covid, we were extremely interested in how 73 Degree Films could help raise more awareness of local businesses in an authentic, fun way.

We had previously created short film like the popular 'Bootlegger's Guide to Wrexham Pubs' and next we wanted to focus on short videos, to capitalise on the explosion in popularity of Tiktok and Reels.
We'd been making lots of short videos, experimenting with different topics and themes to see what would resonate with our audience. In February, a video we made where Rob and James discuss fish and chips inspired a lot of comments and shares.

So for the summer, we planned out an idea to travel to every chippy in the county, in order to document and review them. As predicted, this was extremely popular, with tonnes of engagement and many people relentlessly asking for their local to be the next video.

Ultimately, this series generated well over 10million views - with the recap video alone sitting at over 1.5million. So much interest in videos about Wrexham fish and chip shops! Crazy.​



This was a great lesson in doing two things:​
1. Being consistently creative. Posting content and experimenting.
2. Listing to the audience and going deeper on the topics that inspire conversation and passion.
