Of a Particular Time & Places(s)
A brand new analogue photo collection and documentary film by Robert Corcoran.
Each photo taken on 2 continents, at the same time, on the same day, by the same photographer. It sounds like a magic trick, but it's not.
What is the project?
A double exposure, analog photo collection, featuring Tokyo (Shibuya) and Hawai'i (Waikiki Beach).

I took a full reel of photographs in Tokyo from 8am-2pm on 23rd February 2024. One photo every 10 minutes. I then flew overnight to Honolulu. I crossed the international date line from east to west. Therefore I went back in time, landing at 7am the same day.

I then reset the same film and shot a double exposure on top of the original photographs in Honolulu, 8am-2pm on 23rd February 2024. One photo every 10 minutes - at the exact same time.
I am the first person to achieve this, to the best of my knowledge. The result is a series of unique, striking photos of 2 incredible locations.
What am I hoping to do with the collection?
I hope to do 3 things in particular:
-
Display the collection in appropriate galleries.
-
Produce and sell high quality, limited prints.
-
Complete and release a documentary about the project (I filmed the entire project).
Are prints available?
If you are interested in a print, please contact me via rob@73degreefilms.com as I am making plans for the first limited collection now.
Documentary
Here is a trailer for the documentary film covering the project.

The film is currently entirely shot and I am raising finishing funds to complete post-production. If you are interested in supporting the film or wish to enquire about distribution, please contact me via rob@73degreefilms.com.
